Mythos Trial operates on a roguelike progression framework where each run through the Olympian trials generates procedurally arranged encounters. The card battle engine uses a resource pool system where players spend divine energy to deploy cards representing mythological heroes, artifacts, and divine interventions. Every decision impacts your deck composition for subsequent encounters within the same trial run.
The game implements a branching path structure across five distinct trial tiers, each governed by a different Olympian deity. Zeus commands lightning-based encounters in the Sky Realm, Poseidon controls water manipulation mechanics in the Ocean Depths, while Hades introduces death and resurrection systems in the Underworld. Each realm features unique enemy types, environmental hazards, and deity-specific card synergies that demand adaptive deck building strategies.
Permanent progression occurs through the Pantheon system where successful trial completions unlock divine blessings, new card archetypes, and character upgrades that persist across runs. The meta-progression layer includes 12 unlockable Olympian patrons, each offering distinct starting decks and passive abilities. Advanced players can combine patron powers with relic artifacts discovered during runs to create specialized builds optimized for specific trial paths and boss encounters.
Every trial run creates unique encounter sequences through procedural path generation. The system randomizes enemy placements, reward nodes, merchant encounters, and boss sequences across five deity-controlled realms, ensuring no two runs follow identical patterns even when selecting the same starting patron.
Unlock and master 12 Olympian gods as playable patrons, each providing distinct starting decks and passive abilities. Zeus grants lightning chain attacks, Athena offers defensive wisdom buffs, Ares enables aggressive combat multipliers, while Dionysus introduces status effect synergies through madness and intoxication mechanics.
Build your deck from over 100 unique cards spanning hero summons, divine interventions, artifact equipment, and mythological events. The crafting system allows mid-run deck modifications through card removal at shrines, card upgrades at forges, and card transformations through deity blessings earned after boss victories.
Discover and equip powerful relics that provide permanent passive bonuses throughout your trial run. Medusa's Mirror reflects damage, Pandora's Box generates random card effects, the Golden Fleece reduces incoming damage by 30%, while Hermes' Sandals grant additional energy per turn for faster card deployment.
Permanent account progression through the Pantheon unlock system rewards successful trial completions with divine favor currency. Spend favor to unlock new patrons, expand the card pool with legendary mythological figures, and purchase permanent stat bonuses that apply to all future runs regardless of chosen deity.
Face 15 unique mythological bosses including the Minotaur, Medusa, Cerberus, and the Titans.
